HISTORY

NDWM (National Domestic Workers Movement) was established in the 1980s and initially worked with several states in India, including Tamil Nadu. In the course of its operations, NDWM recognized the importance of focusing specifically on the welfare of domestic workers in Tamil Nadu and consequently established a separate entity known as The Tamil Nadu Domestic Worker's Welfare Trust (TNDWWT) in 2005. The trust's work initially began in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, and gradually expanded to encompass various other districts within the state. Presently, The TNDWWT operates in 17 districts of Tamil Nadu, diligently working towards the upliftment and empowerment of domestic workers by addressing their needs and advocating for their rights in the region.
